On this website, you can find the oral histories of veterans from the metro-Detroit area. These histories were the result of a commitment by the local veteran community and students at Baker Middle School as a part of the US History course to ensure that the legacies of these men and women would be captured for future generations. This concluded our study of the Civil War and discussion about the origins of the Memorial Day.
The stories captured range from World War II, Korea, Vietnam to the current Global War on Terror including the accounts of men and women from all branches of service. These stories will be housed on this site and copies sent to the families of those that participated so that these stories can be preserved for future generations.
